Above: A real ‘head turner’ during late May was Southern and Silverton’s No. 4846, an empty wagon movement from Newcastle to Parkes, which ran behind the spectacular array of SCT11, SCT10, FL220, 44204 and 80s4 on Monday 26 May. The two SCT Class units were on delivery from Cardiff to Melbourne, while the trailing trio of ex-NSWSRA units later haul the train from Cootamundra to Parkes, where the wagon rake was to be separated into two groups: those awaiting refurbishment, and those awaiting scrapping. The train is seen here rolling through Yerrinbool south of Sydney. Rob Shaw
